The château d'Hodebert is a castle located in the commune of Saint-Paterne-Racan, in the department of Indre-et-Loire.

History: Hodebert's earliest records date back to the 16th century. François Brissonnet, squire, seigneur de Launay, councillor and chaplain of the king, canon pre-bounded from the basilica of Saint-Martin de Tours and provost of Oë, had the central element of the present castle erected on the slain remains of an ancient fortress built in an excavation of the hillside. In 1545 his chestnut, the widow Durand, appeared before the chapter of Saint-Martin de Tours. It was therefore in this place that on 20 November 1620 the poet Honorat de Bueil de Racan was translated to pay tribute to his feudal suzerain François Brissonnet. In 1648, this châtellenie was in the hands of Henry de Codosny, lord of Hodebert and Saché, master of the king's hotel, adviser to his private councils, whose family came from Italy in the time of Mary of Medici.
