About

The Château de Bricquebec is a former castle built on a motte, from the 10th or 11th century, entirely rebuilt in the 14th century and rebuilt in the 16th century, whose ruins stand on the territory of the former French commune of Bricquebec, in the department of the Manche, in the Normandy region. It was the centre of the Barony of Bricquebec, and one of the most important forts of the Dukes of Normandy. It is an ancient feudal home probably built in the 11th century, which has since undergone many reshuffles and reconstructions. "It shone with all its brightness in the fourteenth century." The remains of the castle are classified as historical monuments.
