About

The Château de Crèvecœur is the site of an ancient castle built in the 13th century a few hundred meters from the village of Saint-Martin-Valmeroux, in the department of Cantal, on the left bank of the Maronne. It was a royal castle, seat of the Baillage des Montagnes d'Auvergne. The people of Saint-Martin still know, near the old castle, the rock which bears the name "rock of hanged".
