About

Marbeaumont Castle is located in Bar-le-Duc in the department of Meuse in the Grand Est region. Built from 1903 to 1905 by the family of banker Varin-Bernier, the castle is characteristic of historicalism and eclecticism in vogue at that time. The exterior architecture and interior decoration mix all styles, from Renaissance to Art Nouveau, combined with the most modern comfort.

The building is surrounded by an English-speaking park with rare species. The castle became the property of the city in 1946, and since 1996 has been home to the Jean Jeukens Media Library. It has been listed as a historical monument since 24 December 1980.
