Château de Maulevrier

The castle of Maulevrier is a former castle, rebuilt in the 16th century, center of the seigneury and then of the marquisat of Maulevrier, which stands on the commune of Melay in the department of Saône-et-Loire, in the region Burgundy-Franche-Comté. The castle is subject to a partial inscription in respect of historical monuments by order of 24 January 1991. Only facades and roofs, including basements, ditches, dormant deck, rotating stairway and 16th century skeleton door are listed.
