Location: The castle is located in the commune of Louchy-Montfand, in the department of Allier, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, at the top of a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Description: The castle brings together the different styles that followed each other in the Bourbonnais. The entrance to the castle was defended by two towers, the walls were lined with niches. Only residential buildings were retained. Three bodies of buildings are ordered around an inner courtyard. The former dungeon was extended by a remodeled wing in the 18th century. The dungeon is accessible by a door in the middle of a hanger with two pilasters supporting a shell consisting of two ground cornices surrounding a bare frieze. Presence of cellars dating from the 11th century, remains of the primitive castle.
History: The oldest remains date back to the 11th and 12th centuries: cellars, "Romanesque cuisine".
