The Château de Pouthet, or the Chartreuse de Pouthet, is a French castle located in the commune of Eymet, Dordogne, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It is protected by historical monuments.
Location: In Bergeracois, south-west of the Dordogne department, the Pouthet Castle is located on the edge of the 933 departmental road, about two kilometers northeast of the center of the Eymet bastide.
Built in the 18th century, the building was heavily modified in the following century. This is an old winery. The house is facing east-west. It is bounded at each end by a pavilion and forms an elevated cartreuse, accessible on the north side by a 14 steps staircase and on the south side by a double staircase. East side, an old wing of outbuildings forms a L with the house. To the west of the house, a false mâchicoulis tower was built in the 19th century to replace a wing destroyed by a fire, and on the eastern side, a small turret was built.
