château de Saint-Mesmin
The Château de Saint-Mesmin-la-Ville is a castle located in the commune of Saint-André-sur-Sèvre in the Deux-Sèvres department. However, this castle bears the name of a commune in the Vendée department, less than two kilometres away: Saint-Mesmin. Fief of several families since the 14th century he knew no real fact of arms only in 1793. After a long deterioration, the castle was restored from the 1980s and is now owned by a joint union comprising the departments of Vendée and Deux-Sèvres, which opened it to visit.
