About

Segrez Castle is a historic monument, located in Saint-Sulpice-de-Favières, in the Essonne department. The park, the facades and roofs of all the built elements and the cave have been listed as historical monuments since 13 January 2009. Segrez, along with Ermenonville, the Desert of Retz, the Petit Trianon or Méreville, is one of the few picturesque or "Anglo-Chinese" gardens from the late eighteenth century to the present day.

Château de Segrez

Segrez is distinguished by its very good state of conservation and its landscape composition, focusing on the presentation of the site's natural attractions and the likelihood of its factories, in the same way as a Brown Capacity in England. In the 19th century, the garden houses a botanical collection of more than 6,500 taxa under the impetus of Alphonse Lavallée. Segrez Castle and its garden are located in the heart of the Renarde Valley, a site classified since 1987.
