The castle of Varax is a former castle, from the 14th – 15th century, ruined at the end of the 16th century and remodeled since, which stands on the commune of Saint-Paul-de-Varax in the department of Ain, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Adjacent to the castle, there remains a castral motte accompanied by a lower court of the middle of the thirteenth century. It is the centre of the Varax seigneury, later built in county.
The castle is subject to a partial inscription in respect of historical monuments by order of 29 September 1981. Only the facades and roofs of the castle, with the exception of the west façade of the building with four modern openings, and the communes are inscribed.
