château de la Valade
The Château de la Valade is a French castle located in the commune of Bourdeilles in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
Presentation: The Château de la Valade is located in the north-west of the Dordogne department, 200 metres from departmental roads 2 and 106E1, south-west of the commune of Bourdeilles. It dominates the Valade Creek valley, tributary of the Donzelle and sub-tributary of the Dronne. It's private property.
History: In the 15th century, the present castle of the 17th and 18th centuries served as agricultural high school in the second half of the 19th century.
Architecture: It consists of a house flanked to the northwest and southeast by two towers. A dovecote is also present in the southeast.
