château du Grand-Ringelstein
The Grand Ringelstein Castle (or Ringelsbourg Castle) is located in the town of Oberhaslach (Bas-Rhin). It has been classified as historical monuments since December 1898. Dating from the early 13th century, it formed around several sandstone rocks at an altitude of 644m.
On the top of the rocks there remain only small remains of buildings, including the remains of a pentagonal dungeon, placed to the north, on the most accessible side. On the other hand, the polygonal enclosure surrounding the group of rocks is still well preserved, especially on the south-west side, where several small openings can be observed in the middle of the hanger. Owned by the Eguisheims, the place is quoted from the middle of the 12th century.
After the family was extinguished, he passed to the bishop of Strasbourg. It was destroyed in 1470.
