château du Petit Trianon
The Château du Petit Trianon is a building located in the Petit Trianon estate, in the Parc de Versailles, in the French department of Yvelines, in the Île-de-France region. Built by the architect of King Louis XV, Angel-Jacques Gabriel, from 1762 to 1768, it is considered a masterpiece of neoclassicism, combining the most modern taste and integration with the surrounding nature. Built for Madame de Pompadour who died before seeing him finished, it was inaugurated by Madame du Barry in 1768, almost twenty years after the first modifications of the King's New Garden.

It is offered by Louis XVI, from his advent, to his young wife Marie-Antoinette who gives him his imprint, combining forever, in the imagination of the public, the building and the queen. From a square plan of twenty-three metres, the building owes its distinctive feature to its four facades comprising five high windows scanned by columns or pilasters of the Corinthian order.
