About

Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur-et Saint-Philippe Church is a parish church located in the commune of Noise. In 1218, Pierre II de la Chapelle, dit Pierre de Nemours, bishop of Paris, detached the village from the parish of Sucy-en-Brie and inscribed it in the chapter of Notre-Dame. A church is then built at this location.

It was rebuilt in 1538, including its nave. The museum of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés preserves the dedicatory stone which attests in 1738 to its dedication to Saint James the minor and Saint Philip, a dedication probably made on the occasion of this enlargement. In 1740, Abbé Lebeuf described the choir as small, without any ornament other than the vault with massive pillars and large foliage with capitals.

During the Revolution, it was reduced to a barn. The present church, with a square bell tower, was built around 1840, on the same foundations.
