About

The cross of the four communes is a cross of road erected at the intersection of the boundaries of four communes of the Loire-Atlantique, France.

Description: The cross of the four communes marks the limit of four communes of the Loire-Atlantique: Notre-Dame-des-Landes in the north and west, Grandchamp-des-Fontaines in the east, Treillières in the south-east and Vigneux-de-Bretagne in the south and south-west. It is a simple Latin cross, formed by two perpendicular arms, vertical and horizontal, of square section. It rests on a table, itself laid on four feet, one at each corner, each of these feet being situated on a separate commune. The whole is completed by a last square foot central. The river of the Plongeon takes its source.

History: The cross was erected in 1801; It was restored in 2000 for its bicentenary.
