The cross of Chesne is a stone cross located in Chesne, France. Several assumptions have been made about its meaning. But it is no doubt, quite simply, a cross of crossroads, a mountain-joy, a roadmark.

We stopped there to pray too. The monuments of this model were once fairly widespread on the roads of France, but today there are only six or seven remaining on the national territory.
