Ernaginum is the name of an ancient city located on the territory of the present-day commune of Tarascon, near the village of Saint-Étienne-du-Grès (Bouches-du-Rhône). Ptolemy quotes it in the second century under the Greek name Ερνατινον (Ernaginon). But some draw it closer to the city of Bergina evoked by Avienus, who cites travelers from the 5th and 4th centuries BC and locates it in the territory of the Salyens. Ernaginum is a major road relay throughout antiquity as it is located at the intersection of three ancient ways: the Domitian Way, the Aurelian Way and the Via Agrippa.
