Fondation d'entreprise Louis-Vuitton
The Louis-Vuitton company foundation, formerly the Louis-Vuitton foundation for the creation launched in October 2005, is a company foundation created by the LVMH group and its houses. Its aim is to ensure the sustainability of the sponsorship activities undertaken by the group since 1990. The object building of the foundation is a museum, designed by architect Frank Gehry, located at the Jardin d'acclimation, in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.
It is dedicated to modern art and contemporary art. This project, which was intended as a replica of the Pinault Foundation in Venice, is a media expression of the competition between the owner of the world's leading luxury company Bernard Arnault and his rival François Pinault. The inauguration of the building took place on 20 October 2014 in the presence of François Hollande, President of the Republic.
The significant increase in the cost initially foreseen for the construction of the building, which is subject to tax deductions (up to three quarters of the expenses), results in a complaint being filed by an anti-corruption association in November 2018 against the Louis-Vuitton Foundation and the LVMH group for fraud, fraud...
