The Botanical Garden of Marnay-sur-Seine was founded in December 1995 on the initiative of the visual artist and botanist Didier Rousseau-Navarre. Supported financially by the Tenot Foundation, the General Council of the Dawn, the Regional Council of Champagne-Ardenne, the Association Jardin Botanique de Marnay-sur-Seine created and inaugurated in June 1999 the first botanical garden of Champagne-Ardenne. It is today supported by the Aube Departmental Council. While it was 5,000 m2 in 1999, it has grown since 2001 to 2 hectares on land belonging to the commune. This garden has obtained and preserved since 2002 the pleasure Botanical Garden of France and French speaking Countries. He has also held the remarkable Garden label since 2009. The site is primarily dedicated to environmental education, natural science literacy and environmental awareness. As an accredited Botanical Garden of France, he contributes to scientific and conservatory research missions.
