Bénite Fontaine

La Benite Fontaine is a Marian shrine, located at the exit of the town of La Roche-sur-Foron (1.5 km), in the Haute-Savoie department, in the direction of the village of Saint-Sixt. It is one of the most important places of pilgrimage dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of the former Duchy of Savoie. Although older than the Marian sanctuary of Lourdes, the site is sometimes nicknamed "Little Lourdes Savoyard". La Bénite Fontaine is also a popular walking destination in the surrounding communes of La Roche-sur-Foron, Saint-Sixt and Saint-Laurent, sometimes from afar, coming to supply water at the holy spring.
