War memorial
monument aux morts de Joyeuse
The monument to the dead of Joyeuse is erected in the commune of Joyeuse in the department of Ardèche and in the Rhône-Alpes region. The monument consists of a couple of peasants symbolizing pain after the loss of a son during World War I, which took place from 1914 to 1918. It was the first armed conflict that involved so many countries around the world. The loss of life was more than 8 million dead and 6 million invalids.
