The Marguerite-Yourcenar Museum is located in the heart of Saint-Jans-Cappel, a commune in the district of Dunkirk, in the canton of Bailleul-Nord-Est. It is part of the community of communes of Inner Flanders. In addition to some places and tourist activities ( pond of 3 fountains, equestrian farm, rural cottages...), it has a major tourist advantage, since part of its territory is located on Mont Noir, with the departmental park Marguerite-Yourcenar, the villa Marguerite-Yourcenar and the path of Jacinthes. Saint-Jans-Cappel enjoys easy access through motorway exits (A25) and the railway station located at Bailleul, 5 kilometres from the village.
