Musée Soulages

About

The Soulages Museum is a contemporary art museum located in Rodez, Aveyron, Occitanie region. Built to exhibit works by French painter Pierre Soulages, it also receives temporary exhibitions from other contemporary artists. He obtained the label "Musée de France" on 20 December 2005, even before the first stone was laid.

It is built on the Foirail plateau, at the gates of the historic centre of Rodez and Notre Dame Cathedral. The inauguration took place in the presence of François Hollande, President of the Republic, on 30 May 2014.
