musée Verlaine
The Verlaine Museum is the former Inn of the Lion d'Or, also known as the Prévot Café. Located in the commune of Juniville (Ardennes), he maintained the memory of the poet and writer Paul Verlaine who lived in front of him from March 1880 to January 1882, went there daily and wrote there. A place of memory, it meets two complementary objectives: to perpetuate the memory of the cursed poet by saving an Ardennes building with torchi and wood walls, an old place of rural life and a haven for travellers. The transformation of the building into a museum and then a cultural space was done in stages, thanks to the initiative of several enthusiasts and with the financial assistance of the local authorities.
