The Museum of Art and Archaeology of Guéret or the Museum of the Senatery is a municipal museum that depends on the city of Guéret, Prefecture of Creuse. It is labeled museum of France.

Creation of the museum — 19th – 20th centuries: The museum was created in 1837 by the Society of Natural and Archaeological Sciences of the Creuse. The city of Guéret makes available to the Society of Presiduals, in the former palace of the presidial became city hall in 1835, in exchange for the donation to the city of collections. The museum opened its doors to the public on 8 July 1838 under the name Cabinet of Natural History and Antiquities of Creuse. The expansion of the museum's collections is concomitant with the development of the learned society, renamed the Society of Natural and Archaeological Sciences of Creuse in 1852. In 1905, the town of Guéret acquired a former mansion built at the end of the 18th century, having served under Napoleon I as a residence for the senators of Limousin and since then called "Hôtel de la Sénatorerie".
