The Museum/Centre d'art du verre is a museum of contemporary art and history on the theme of glass located in the agglomeration of Carmaux (Tarn, Midi-Pyrénées).
Museum and art centre: A museum and an art centre dedicated to glass, combining the heritage and uses of glass in contemporary art or when rhymes collections with creations. As part of a larger project initiated by the community of communes of Carmausin, the museum was realized in the building of the first glass factory (exhibition of contemporary works, local history, annual exhibition of prestige), in the territory of the municipality of Blaye-les-Mines. The modernization of the museum began in 2006. With the help of a museographer, the project aims to rethink and structure the museum so that it becomes a must and unique place for glass in Midi-Pyrénées. It is open for 6 months, from March/April to October. A network of partner sites has been set up at the regional level and is developing with the support of glass professionals in particular.
