nécropole nationale de Rétaud
The National Necropolis of Rétaud is a French military cemetery in the commune of Rétaud (Charente-Maritime). Hundreds of French and Allied fighters who had fallen during the fighting for the liberation of Royan and Oléron's pockets were buried there. Located a little away from the village, at the place known as " Chez-le-Tard", in the southwest of Charente-Maritime, it echoes the German military cemetery of Berneuil, located a few kilometers away.
