oppidum du Castellan
L'oppidum du Castellan is an oppidum (a place of public refuge, characteristic of Celtic civilization) located in the commune of Istres (Bouches-du-Rhône), in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The opidum is perched on a rocky promontory which advances by dominant it from the top of its 40.7 m the pond of the Oliver, on its south shore. It was occupied from the sixth century BC until the first century C.E. The plateau is about 300 meters long by 130 wide.
