Ouvrage Fermont

About

The work of Fermont is a fortified work of the Maginot line, located on the boundaries of the communes of Viviers-sur-Chiers, Montigny-sur-Chiers and Beuveille, in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle. It's a big artillery structure, with nine blocks. Built from 1931, it was damaged by the fighting of June 1940, before being repaired at the beginning of the Cold War. It is now a museum open to the public.
