parc-musée du Granit
The Parc-musée du Granit de Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie, commune of the Manche department, in Normandy, traces the history of the last centre of extraction of a granite known as Bleu de Vire. The great granite era of Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie dates back to the first half of the 20th century, during which a hundred quarries of all dimensions were exploited in the territory of the commune. Located in the heart of the village, the Parc-Musée du Granite de Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie is the guardian of this memory and know-how. In 2007, the museum welcomed 1,238 visitors.
