Park
La Sathonette Park is a public garden located in Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost, France. The Sathonette Castle is located in this park.
Origin of name: The name of Sathinette came from a possessor of the estate in the 15th century (there is never a seigneury at Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost), named Claude Ferlay de Sathonay.
It is attested that the castle of the Sathonette was inhabited in 1774 by Meillet-Montessuy, adviser to the King (of which the descendant Georges de Meillet-Montessuy will build the castle of Joyeux). The estate was then sold to Lejéas-Carpentier (later mayor of Dijon), who lived there during the French Revolution. It is also attested that the estate remained in possession of the Lejéas-Carpentier until at least 1834. The estate was then in possession of the Guyot de Beynost family for about 30 years and then belonged successively to several large Lyon families: Péricaud, Bouteille, Cholat and Jalon. In 1992, the estate was purchased by the municipality.
Classified objects: The castle contains several classified objects, including nine monumental paintings:
