The Wow Safari Thoiry is a French zoological park located in the Île-de-France region of the Yvelines department, about 40 kilometres west of Paris. The park takes place within the domain of the castle of Thoiry, located in the rural communes of Thoiry and Villiers-le-Mahieu. Opened in 1968 and first managed by its founder, Antoine de La Panouse, then by his son Paul de La Panouse, under the name "Réserve africaine de Thoiry", he then became the property of the Thoiry Participations Group, whose capital has been divided since 2022 between the private equity company Kartesia and the family of Lapanouse.
This zoological park, which covers 150 of the 380 hectares of the estate, has about 1,500 animals belonging to about 95 species of mammals, 28 species of birds and 30 species of reptiles. It also has amphibians and invertebrates. It features a safari section, which can be visited by car, a more traditional pedestrian section and a botanical park with several theme gardens: autumn gardens, perfumes, English, labyrinth, rose garden, and a French-style inverted parterre designed by Claude Desgots.
