About

The Masaryk Bridge (formerly known as the Masaryk Bridge or the Gare Bridge) is a suspension bridge located in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon which allows to cross the Saône, financed by the residents and opened to the public on 17 June 1831. It consists of two spans held by bays attached to three piles of Couzon stone, with an opening equal to 85.20 m; the cables, several times renewed, support a 6.60 m apron including 4.60 m of carriageway and two sidewalks of one metre each. The bridge is now reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.
