The Arletty Bridge is a pedestrian bridge crossing the Saint-Martin Canal in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.
Situation and access: The bridge crossed the Marais basin, one of the basins of the Saint-Martin Canal. It links:
on the right bank: the wharf of Valmy, at the level of rue des Vinaigriers and rue Jean-Poulmarch; on the left bank: the wharf of Jemmapes, at the height of the rue de la Grange-aux-Belles. It is located above the downstream gate of the Recollet locks, near the rotating bridge of the Grange-aux-Belles. This site is served by the Paris metro line 5 at Jacques Bonsergent station.
Description: The bridge is a bridge arched below, cast iron. In 2021, she benefited from a restoration that restored her original colour: light grey.
She was named after Arletty (1898-1992), a French actress known especially for her role in Marcel Carné's film Hôtel du Nord, during which, on the banks of the Saint-Martin Canal, she pronounced the famous replica "Atmosphere! Atmosphere! Do I have an atmosphere?" The inauguration took place on September 15, 2022.
