passerelle de l’Estellier
Estellier's new bridge is an arch of metal structure, the construction of which began in autumn 1999, which crosses the Verdon River, at the place called Estellier, in the gorges of Verdon.
It was built to replace the one carried away by the fury of the waters during the the centennial flood of 5 November 1994. It has been officially opened since 2004. It allows you to reach the Martel trail, then the chalet de la Maline (in 1 hour walk) from the Imbut trail, downstream of the Cavalier cliff. This bridge is the only pedestrian structure crossing the river; It is widely used by many tourists who take the trails along the river. This bridge is 45 m long. It is a steel arch with a three-dimensional structure with a V-shaped section. The site of this work is not accessible by road, so the elements of the bridge were manufactured in a workshop, transported by helicopter and assembled on site. The architect Dominique Putz is the author of the project and the engineer Alain Ranvier carried out the structural calculations
