Pierre des Platennes

Les menhirs des Platennes is a group of three menhirs located in the commune of Chauvé, in the Loire-Atlantique department.

Description: The three menhirs are in sandstone. The first menhir is 3.30 m long by 3.65 m wide for a thickness of 1.35 m. The center menhir is 5.10 m long by 2.20 m wide, and 0.55 m thick. The third measure is 4.40 m in length by 1.70 m in width for a thickness of 0.55 m. The central menhir was struck down by a storm at the beginning of the 19th century and by falling broke a block of sandstone on which it still rests.
