Pincevent

Pucevent is a prehistoric outdoor site located in the commune of La Grande-Paroisse, in Seine-et-Marne, in the Seine valley, downstream of Montereau-Fault-Yonne. It is the largest Magdalenian deposit searched in Europe and one of the best preserved. He delivered the remains of a seasonal Magdalenian reindeer hunting camp about 12,300 years before the present (AP). His discovery in 1964, then his excavation under the direction of André Leroi-Gourhan, allowed significant progress in the knowledge of the Magdalenian but also in the methods of prehistoric archaeology.
