The Chateaubriand Bridge is an arch bridge that supports the RN 176 linking the city of Plouër-sur-Rance (Côtes-d'Armor) to the town of La Ville-ès-Nonais (Ille-et-Vilaine) above the Rance in Brittany. The bridge is the stopping point of the RN 176 which connects the Ille-et-Vilaine to the Côtes-d'Armor, it belongs to the only 3.5 km in 2x1 lanes. The RN 176 is a 2x2 axis, used by many tourists, especially from Paris, but also by many heavyweights, and it links the countries of Dinan and Saint-Malo, which are very close.
It also allows the Malouins to connect the rest of Brittany. For these reasons, work on doubling the Chateaubriand Bridge originally planned for 2020 is planned from 2024. Several scenarios were considered, and it was finally doubling with an enlargement of the existing bridge that was chosen.
