About

The Pont du Maréchal Joffre or Pont Neuf or Pont Nicolas II is a former French bridge crossing the Loire in the city of Orléans and the Loiret department. Originally named Bridge Neuf, then Bridge Nicolas II, it was renamed Bridge Joffre, in honour of Marshal Joseph Joffre (1852-1931). The bridge was built in 1905 and destroyed in 1940. It was replaced in 1958 by a bridge with a mixed frame.
