The Willy-Brandt Bridge is one of the Nantes bridges that cross the Loire, more precisely the Madeleine arm.
Description: It connects the district of Malakoff - Saint-Donatien (SNCF station, Marcel-Saupin stadium) with that of Île de Nantes (sports palace, shopping centre). Due to the architect Charles Lavigne, it is a prestressed concrete bridge consisting of three spans formed by corbellations. It was carried out simultaneously with the Three Continents Bridge between July 1991 for the first studies and commissioning in February 1994, for 275 MF HT (1992), i.e. 71.2 M€ present the two bridges.
History: Inaugurated on 3 February 1995, it bears the name taken from its exile in Norway during the Second World War, Herbert Karl Frahm, future Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, from 1969 to 1974 and Nobel Peace Prize 1971.
