Bridge
pont de Chatou
The bridge of Chatou is an art work that allows a roadway to cross the Seine between Rueil-Malmaison and Chatou in the department of Yvelines, in the Île-de-France region. The present work, dating back to 1966, is the last of a line of bridges which have been followed since 1626 by the rhythm of destruction due to the wear of time and the floods and ices of the Seine but also, and mainly, by the warrior episodes, notably: the Fronde, the Napoleonic period of the Cent-Days, the Franco-German War of 1870 and the Second World War.
