pont de Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert
The bridge of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert, known as the large bridge over the Loire, is a suspended bridge of the Loire department that crosses the Loire at Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert. It supports the deviation of the departmental road D 498 which connects the motorway A72 to the west of the municipality of Bonson. Since 26 February 2021, he has been called "Pascal-Clément Bridge", in tribute to Pascal Clément, who had decided to build it when he was president of the Loire department council.
The architecture of this suspension bridge is original since the portals supporting the carrier cables are triangular. The two sloping sheets thus form inclined planes instead of being parallel. It also has the peculiarity of being self-anchored.
The anchor massifs are indeed solidified of the deck, so part of the tensile forces transform into compression in the deck, significantly reducing the size of these masses.
