Pont de l'Abîme

The Pont de l'Abîme is a suspension bridge in the Haute-Savoie department in south-eastern France. With a range of 74.80 metres, this work of art allows the departmental road 31 directly connecting the municipalities of Cusy and Gruffy to cross the Cheran at its exit from the Bange cluse at a height (extracting air) of 96 metres. Above all, it avoids a detour of nearly 8 kilometers upstream of the river.

Motor traffic can only be carried out alternately because of its limited width, which does not allow for the passage of large vehicles. Its maximum tolerated load is 19 tons.
