About

The Vendée bridges are a set of two consecutive railway bridges that cross arms of the Loire on both sides of the eastern tip of the Île de Nantes (more specifically the former Beaulieu island) at Nantes and join Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire (Ile Forget) south of the river, in France. They are established on the line from Nantes-Orléans to Saintes. The first of a length of 322 m crossed the arm of the Madeleine (bridge of the Vendée 1) and the second of a length of 255 m the arm of Pirmil (bridge of the Vendée 2), the section of a hundred meters connecting on the island of Nantes the two works of art crosses the park of Beaulieu. It is commonly referred to as the Vendée Bridge as a whole.
