Amusement park
Prehistoparc is a theme park centered on prehistory located in Tursac, Dordogne, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. In the heart of the "Homme Valley", famous for the many prehistoric discoveries made there, the park extends over five hectares and presents life-size statues showing scenes of the daily life of the Neanderthal populations, then cro-magnon, established in the region several tens of thousands of years ago: hunting scenes, tool making... Created in 1984 in collaboration with the Institute of Human Paleontology and Professor Jean-Louis Heim, a paleoanthropologist at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, it is fully accessible to disabled people. On the margins of the park itself, a shop and picnic area were set up.
