About

The Roman station of Rubricaire, the first nucleus of successive agglomerations at the foot of Mount Rochard, is better known by the remains it has left than by historical texts. This ancient resort, also known as the "Château de Rubricaire", is located in the commune of Sainte-Gemmes-le-Robert, canton of Évron (Mayenne), located 11 kilometers away from the bird and in view of Jublains en Mayenne, capital of the Aulerci Diablientes. The establishment of Rubricaire has dependencies of Roman origin, track, scattered dwellings and baths.

Rubricaire

This monument is known by a text from the 2nd century C.E., copied in the 11th century, and transmitted without alteration by tradition and popular language. Gallo-Roman Camp and Rubricaire Balneum are classified as historical monuments in 1917.
