viaduc des Fauvettes
The viaduct des Fauvettes or viaduct d'Angoulême or viaduct de Bures is a abandoned railway bridge from the old West-Cinture line in Chartres also known as the line from Paris to Chartres by Gallardon; it is located in the communes of Gometz-le-Châtel and Bures-sur-Yvette, in Essonne; It spans the Ru d'Angoulême and overlooks the valley of the Yvette, near the wood of the Fauvettes, hence its various names. Today it is a leisure base. It is used as a training site for climbing and sports speleology, as well as occasionally for training paragliders when opening the emergency parachute under zipline.
