Velodrome
The Jean-Bouin Velodrome is a velodrome in the city of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) in operation at the beginning of the 20th century. He was named in tribute to the Marseille athlete Jean Bouin. With a track of 333.33 metres, this open-air bikedrome welcomes the Six Days of Marseille from 1928 to 1933.
Several stages of the Tour de France cyclist conclude at the Jean-Bouin Velodrome during the inter-war period, including the 11th stage of the Tour 1928, the 12th stage of the Tour 1930, the 12th stage of the Tour 1931 and the 11th stage of the Tour 1938. The construction of the Vélodrome stadium in 1937 resulted in the decommissioning of the Jean-Bouin velodrome.
