About

The Écomusée de Savigny-le-Temple was an ecomuseum located in the heart of a privileged site, the Coulevrain farm. Royal property given in 1149 by Louis VII to the Templars, the buildings visible today date back to the 16th and subsequent centuries. In 1986, agricultural activity finally ceased.

The new city of Sénart then acquired the building to protect it and the city of Savigny-le-Temple gave it a cultural vocation, via the installation of the ecomuseum, labeled "Musée de France" in 2002. The ecomuseum closes its doors in 2016 and its collection is set aside. A project to take over by a Montessori school is envisaged.
