Notre-Dame-de-la-Joie de Pontivy Basilica is a minor basilica of the Catholic Church located in Place Bourdonnay-du-Clézio, Pontivy, France.

Location: The basilica is located in the French department of Morbihan, in the commune of Pontivy. Built between Place Bourdonnaye and Place Anne-de-Bretagne, it is in the centre of the medieval city.

The memorial stone placed between the two jewels overlooking the western gate, recalls that the first stone was laid on 29 April 1533. The pontivyans, whose church Saint-Ivy was too small and was too old, began to raise in the 1530s a new Latin cross-shaped sanctuary, partly thanks to the financial assistance of the bishop of Cornouaille Claude de Rohan. The arms of Rohan's family appear above the double door of the tower and their macels are recalled on the columns. According to local tradition, an epidemic of dysentery plagued the city in 1695 and 1696. On September 11, 1696, the inhabitants would have made the wish, if the plague ceased, to offer the Virgin an eternal silver lamp in the chapel dedicated to Saint Ivy. The invocation...
